Enamel Colander

The decorative colander is carefully crafted from strong sheet steel. The real enamel coating is finished using the traditional manufacturing process used hundreds of years ago. To keep the characteristics of this process the small air bubbles and chippings in the enamel coating are a key feature to attain the nostalgic look. The enamelling process of melting the powder glass onto metal at approximately 800°C was first used in the 18th century.
The colander is tastefully designed with a black painted line around edges of the white enamel. It has two loop handles which can be used to attach it on a kitchen hanger from the ceiling. Thanks to the flat stand at the base it can also be free standing.
